BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR PAINTING

It’s a bright sunny day for painting.  I am working on a commission piece for a designer in Sarasota.  It is turning out great!  Using lots of texture and metallic paints.  From Earth tones to Warm Silvers.  Will post it in a couple of days.  The painting is almost done.

DESIGNER SHOWCASE HOUSE

I went to the Sarasota Boys & Girls Club 2012 Designer Showcase House this past week.  It was interesting to see all the color trends that are out in textiles and to translate them into my acrylic art pieces.  The custom art pieces I did for Holly Dennis Designs looked great hanging in the guest bedroom!

ONGOING PAINT CLASS

Another great day of painting at the Sarasota Art Center.  Learning such new and interesting things…Like painting straight out of the tube of acrylic paint and using tin foil to create spider like lines with the paint onto the canvas.

ANOTHER ART CLASS DAY OF FUN

Today was an exciting day in the art class I am taking from Fernando Madridejos at Sarasota Center for the Arts.  He showed the class a wonderful technique using Tube Acrylic paints.  I took the tube of paint and squirted it on the canvas and then used a wet paper towel to move and blend the paint together.  It gives a wonderful soft look to a piece of art.  Picture coming in a week or two!

WORKING WITH INTERIOR DESIGNER

The ASID Showcase House in Sarasota is going to be up and running next week.  Check out Holly Dennis’ guest bedroom.  It turned out beautifully and I am the featured Artist in the room.  I have a series of 5 gallery wrapped pieces in the guest room a pair of wrapped canvases in the on suite.

ART AND WEBSITE JUST GET BETTER

I had the second art class a couple days ago and learned a few new techniques like using rubber cement and candle wax in the art piece.  Tried out the wax idea yesterday on an ongoing acrylic painting with much success!  Will post when the painting is done.  Website looking good moving on to Facebook today!

New Art Class

Just finished my first day at a new art class on Mixed Media and Abstract Art.  I worked on four new acrylic paintings.  I can’t wait to see the finished pieces.  One is a city scene and another is a time piece.  The picture is of me at work on a couple of abstract art pieces.
